Happy Freebie Friday yo! A little something for your December documenting!

Can't wait to get started on documenting my first week of December! Have you started yours yet? Are you even doing one? I know, it can be a touchy subject. You either love it or you hate it. I'm all love the first week but as we get closer to the big day, it gets to be a bit of a burden.

Last year, I think was the very first time I actually finished a complete album for December. I'm feeling super hopeful and positive this years book! I ordered this Ashley G album specifically for December. It's so damn cute. It had me at black hearts. 

Ok, now I must go and prep for my son's little birthday gathering at our house tonight!

FriYAY Freebie!

I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do for this month's freebie until I came across some of my lettering/journaling about fear. 

We all have some basic fear whether it's clowns or spiders or flying but what about deeper fears that stop us from moving forward with our overall life goals? 

Let's face those. It's the first step that gets you closer to your path. From there, it's definitely a journey but one that will be filled with great satisfaction, even in times of failure. 

I challenge you to create a layout or spread or whatever you'd like about fear. Maybe what fear means to you. Maybe the fear that's blocking you creatively. Make it meaningful and therapeutic. Let it be empowering. 

I created this journal card set with my own fears in mind but I do hope that you can make this translate into your own fears. It's July's FriYAY Freebie and I hope you enjoy!

About my Project Life spread // I photographed my photo booth strips on my iPhone and edited it in the Afterglow app to make it a black & white image. I then sized it to 6x8 and printed it on an inket transparency. I backed the transparency with a neutral patterned paper and a flower die cut. The red striped cork circle is from Studio Calico (no longer available). Both die cuts are Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.

Week End 23 | First Friday Freebie!

This week has been a big ol' BLAH. Not in the most negative way….work has been pretty productive. Lot's of good things on the horizon at Studio Calico. It's my own personal art projects that have stalled out. LIke the way my rust bucket of a car I drove in high school would stall out if I didn't switch gears correctly. Not good. 

I've done all the old standbys of getting yourself out of a rut but I know the main reason is my workspace upstairs. It's a disaster. D I S A S T E R. I'm tempted to pick everything up off of the floor and chuck it. I'm constantly in a state of reorganizing and decluttering. I've gotten rid of a lot this past year but why am I left with so much stuff? 

Good news is I've got some free digital goodies ready to download! Like I mentioned before, every First Friday of the month, I will release some kind of digital freebie. This month is a WEEK END blog template and PS brushes. This is the template I use for my own blog and it's super easy to slot in your photos (using the clipping mask feature in PS), then add in your choice of PS brush, voila! Ready to post to your blog! 

The brushes can be used for print too. You can add them to photos or create your own printable for your scrapbooking needs.
