coming soon//shop update

I sort of jumped the gun when I mentioned a shop update on my IG feed last week. I really wanted this particular update to be a preview of what's to come for LLP and needed a little extra time to fine tune a few things.

There will be a new print, greeting cards, packaging, holiday inspired digital printables and of course, a printed paper pack. That has been the most fun to put together. I'm going through and printing on some of my favorite found papers and ephemera that I've collected this year. Can't wait to show you!

Shop update will be Sunday, November 24th.

Finally.

It's been a week of accomplishments here and I'm soooo glad I was able to get my shop items up for you all before the weekend. I had been debating on what prints to include and if I wanted to put a "kit" together or not. I decided on the latter....there's already so many great kits out there. I wanted to take a different approach. As you can see, it's all pretty neutral...I love working with kraft and chipboard. I'm also offering prints on acetate that is almost like vellum.  It's sturdier and just plain rad.

One reservation I had about continuing to offer mini screen prints which are designed to fill the pockets of page protectors is the competition I face with digitally produced scrapbook paper. I've spotted the ampersand here and there which is fine. This isn't going to turn into one those who did what first type of posts. We're all inspired by one form of work or another, no? Truth be told, my first ampersand that didn't bleed off the sides was inspire by the work of Ugmonk. I wanted to update it after a few runs and came across an large ampersand that was cut off the sides via Pinterest. I'm semi obsessed with repeat patterns + designs that bleed off. You'll notice that vibe throughout my prints and rubber-stamps.

Getting back to the subject, I decided to push forward and not lose sight of why I started screen printing and that was to provide something unique + handmade to other scrapbookers. There's a special quality to screen printed paper. It's kind of magical to see a design come to life after it's burned onto a silk screen and printed on paper....all by hand. I get such pleasure in seeing my prints and stamps being used in your projects. Seriously, it's an honor.

Hope you all have a great crafty holiday weekend! I've got a new SC kit waiting for me. Yes, I will be spending my Friday night with paper + possibly Dexter or Magic Mike...hmmm.... XOT

Still trying to get the blog updated. It's driving me a little mad and if I could afford to pay someone to do this, I would. But alas, I'm attempting to learn a little about css code and I have zero desire to. I'm sure it'll come together eventually. I wanted to have it all cleaned up before the next shop update but I'm anxious to release this I LOVE FALL download. ETA should be sometime tomorrow. :)

Photography sidenote: I played with a 24-70 this weekend. A photographer friend lent it to me for a couple of sessions that were suppose to happen this weekend. Unfortunately with the bad weather, they were rescheduled. So I took it out back while the man and boy raked the leaves. I had shot with a 24-70 awhile ago for a wedding and liked the results but I didn't really get a chance to "play" and experiment. One reservation I had with this lens was the bokeh factor. I love an out of focus background. That's why I mostly stick to primes. The above shot was taken with the 24-70 and it's currently one of my faves. And now I'm wanting one of my own of course. I'm even thinking about selling my 80 1.8 and Lensbaby. If you're interested in either, you can email me at lifelovepaper@gmail.com.

SHOP UPDATE AUG 30TH

I'm slowly recovering from this yucky head cold we all caught this past weekend. It started with Tyler, then to me, now to dad. Oy. It started out so innocently with a runny nose and has since turned into a full blown, body aching, nonstop sneezing cold. And of course this couldn't have come at the worst time but I suppose it's never a good time to come down with a bad cold is it?

Well, no matter how I'm feeling tomorrow, I will put on my happy face because we're heading out to the fair and I'm pretty excited about it. It's literally the same booths/events/food every year but now that we have Tyler, it's all new again. I'm pretty sure he'll love the animals the most but this year we get to do some kiddie rides. Pretty stoked about that.

Onto to the shop update news. I had hoped to have the Life.Love.Paper shop stocked by today but that wasn't going to happen. I thought about just throwing up the stamps but I'd really love to have more of a complete update so please bare with me as I pick myself up  from a sea of wadded up Kleenex and Ricola wrappers. I may also have a new digital release as well!

Spotted

It's been fun spotting my prints and stamps all over Instagram + blogs. I love seeing them go out the door to new homes but seeing them put into action makes what I do that much more awesome. Amy Tan's CHA 2012 booth-

Seriously, having my print in Amy Tan's booth was so cool. I was like a proud parent. :) Only wish I could have seen it in person. (this photo is from Amy's Instagram)

Vee's Project Life

Vee continues to amaze me with her project life. I can see her personality all contained in little plastic pockets. I had commented on her blog that I envied her ability to not only keep up PL but to do it in the most artful way. I love how she incorporated the mini prints into her current week. I'm so honored to be a part of her documentation of life.

Thank you all for you amazing support. I've got a lot of new things on the horizon and I cannot wait to show you.

Have a wonderful weekend. xot
